No. 1 Sweet Sombriety

This series of tracks that form a CD is half of what was going to be an album called 'Deathwish' by the band noose in 1996. Later the band debated changing their name, called the album 'Connect The Dots' then disbanded after high school. They all went their separate ways to put it nicely. I was the lead guitarist and singer but I scrapped all the lyrics and plugged them into the computer with some added noise and loops. 

This period of time I started using computer software, more specifically ACID by Sonic Foundry at the time, later Sony, and just spewed it all out into a digital audio workstation. I added loops that I chopped up and rearranged so that they were even more royalty free than before, let alone at times unrecognizable, then I just sort of didn't add lyrics. It became more soundtrack stuff, and instead of all being goth metal I played with it a bit and blended all sorts of styles to the tracks just to experiment. I tried a few tracks here and there on gaming projects but mainly made new stuff for those.

This period of time is when I was past high school, no longer drinking and going to anyone's party with any friends, and just working. It was a somber time to make music but it also steered me away from a hell of a lot of stuff that could've gotten worse. So because I was 100% sober and done, before deciding I can drink a little here and there and I can be funny and not depressed, I called this somber/sober album sweet sombriety. It was a new canvas with reminents of bad memories but good catchy music to go with this little time period nonetheless. 

It still had its abrasively bitter edge like the original, but without all the bad words and self destructive behavior and themes. It was more a soundtrack piece and for practice. The other half of the album that was going to be 'Connect The Dots' is now the next one, Maladaptive Humanoid. Its the more antisocial portion. Both of these albums have a lot of added stuff from later too, hence the durations.

Since this album was for bandcamp, digital, internet, and not real to me, when I decided to put it up again with a cover and remixes and reworks of some of the tracks, I cropped out a picture from the 1800s with vintage halloween costumes (which I had looked at a lot of and they are genuinely creepier than anything today) to go with the horror side of the album as well. Since its the first part of what is now "The Noise Vaults" its meant to look just as it is, pieced together and abrasive. Also, much like the next one, odd.
